Carol Ann assists clients in securing intellectual property rights as a registered U.S. and Canadian patent agent. Based in her hometown of St. John’s, NL, Carol Ann works with clients and innovators throughout the Atlantic region as well as the rest of Canada.
With more than fifteen years drafting and prosecuting patent applications, Carol Ann has extensive experience across established and emerging technology fields, focusing on artificial intelligence, big data, software, communication networks, electronics, and mechanical devices. She guides clients through the patenting process from initial drafting to successful prosecution.
Prior to commencing a career in intellectual property, Carol Ann worked as a PCB and FPGA designer in the telecommunications industry, giving her valuable hands-on engineering expertise that she now applies to protecting her clients’ innovations.
Carol Ann has served a range of clients including individual inventors, start-ups, and SMEs, and has secured patent rights for a large hi-tech company as an in-house agent. She is also a professional engineer licensed with Professional Engineers Ontario.
